The month of celebrations -- we enjoyed the wonderful food served by Halifax Harbor Marina at the Christmas Party held in the Daytona Boat Club building on the extensive marina property and met some of the locals who keep their boats at the marina.  The next night we attended the Freedom Boat Club Christmas party on the dock by the Blue Grotto restaurant.  Once again we met local people who are members of the club which allows them use of several different types of boats for a monthly fee.  The Halifax Christmas Boat Parade concluded the festivities that night.  We tried to take pictures; however, most were deleted as a result of blurs or people walking in front of the camera.  Here are a few....

Su drove across the state the following week to visit her friends, Nancy and Joe, and Jim stayed with Alex. The drive was much different than in the past -- interstate almost the entire trip versus a highway with no passing in some parts surrounded by cattle farms!  After Su's return, we discovered several restaurants that were put on the "return to" list.  Stavros Pizza which serves Greek pizza similar to those in Stamford, CT; drinks and appetizers at Chart House during happy hour were really reasonably priced and really delicious; Rossi's diner makes wonderful muffins and is also similar to those in the northeast; McK's restaurant which serves corned beef and cabbage meals on Fridays at lunch and dinner was enough for two meals.

On Tuesday, December 16, Su drove down to her sister's home in West Palm Beach to visit with Jane and their dad who had flown in the day before from St. Louis.  He is doing very well both mentally and physically, and Jane and I hope we inherited lots of his genes.  On Thursday, December 18, Su drove back to Daytona so we could drive to SC the next day.  We stayed up there in the cold for a week and came back on the 26th.  On Sunday, December 28, Su drove back to Jane's for spend more time with her sister and dad before he left for cold weather.  On New Year's Eve, we dined at the Blue Grotto and left before their big party started as that was after our bedtime.....no we didn't make it until midnight.
