Our friends, John and Cyndi on M/V Fet Esch arrived in early December. Since they had never stopped in Fort Pierce, it gave us the opportunity to dine at some of our favorite restaurants. Cyndi and Su took a trip down to Jensen Beach to shop for Christmas presents and had lunch. On Sunday, December 8, Jim and Su drove to the Still's home on South Hutchinson Island for Sandy's Holiday Open House. We really enjoyed the food, drink, and company; however, we had to hurry back for the Silver Christmas Jubilee -- 25th Annual Sights & Sounds Parade. We love this small town parade that has become our kickoff to the holiday season.
The float that was awarded 2nd Place; however, we thought it should have been 1st Place!

The second week was spent socializing with Larry and Sue who were in Florida visiting friends; Su and another friend named Sue shopped and dined in Vero Beach on Ocean Drive; and we dined with John and Cyndi at Lorenzo's which has great garlic knots. On Saturday, December 14, the Christmas Boat Parade took place, and as always, Su tried to take pictures on various camera settings. Here are some results...

On Wednesday, December 18, we went to Sherri's Christmas Party at the Tiki Bar which is always loads of fun with locals and boaters. On Saturday, December 21, Jim left for South Carolina and Su stayed in Florida to spend Christmas with her sister. While Jim was gone, the tides were extremely low and the winds were blowing with gusts in the 30s. The details won't be written about as no one needs or wants a reminder! We ended the year with drinks at the Tiki Bar followed by drinks at Cobb's Landing followed by dinner on Palmetto Moon. In case you were wondering: no, we didn't make it to midnight!
