Early November, we left Myrtle Beach and began our journey south stopping at some of the same places. Once again, we didn't anticipate staying at Brunswick Landing Marina as long as we did.....Tropical Storm Ida traveled north and only gave us showers; however, the November Nor'easter came in with blasts of extremely cold wind that we clocked at 20+ mph! Of course, this was nothing compared to the winds sustained in the Chesapeake.

On Monday, November 16, we cruised about five hours and were docked at New Smyrna Beach City Marina waiting for the Space Shuttle to lift off just south of us. This was the first day launch we had seen, and Su found it much harder to focus the camera; however, this picture turned out and is easier to see if you click to enlarge it.

Our next stop was a new one: Harbortown Marina on Merritt Island in the Canaveral Barge Canal. The real reason we tried this marina was the price of their diesel!

On Wednesday, November 18 we docked at Vero Beach Marina and our friends, Jim and Sue, came over for hugs and drinks. They have purchased a home in Vero and this was our first visit since last March.

On Friday, November 20, we arrived at Ft. Pierce City Marina and docked in the same slip as last year. Su's sister, Jane, came up for Thanksgiving and brought turkey breast, dressing, cranberry relish, and pumpkin pie. In other words, all the things that take up space in the frig. Su prepared the sweet potatoes and green bean casserole and supplied the wine. We had quite a delicious feast.
