On Friday, November 2, we left Brunswick with light and variable winds and cruised through St. Andrews Sound right at high tide.  It was almost flat!  We stopped in Fernandina, Jacksonville Beach, Palm Coast, New Smyrna, Cocoa Village, and Vero Beach on our way to Fort Pierce.  We had dinner with Chris and Susan of M/V Forever Friday in Fernandina, Larry and Sue of M/V SueSeaQ drove to Jacksonville Beach to drink and dine with us, ran into Bill on S/V Kittiwake in Palm Coast and New Smyrna, and then visited with Tom and Lisa of S/V Symmetry in Vero Beach and had dinner with Sue at Riverside Grill.

On Thursday, November 8, we arrived at Fort Pierce City Marina.  When we left last spring the barges had arrived to begin the marina expansion.  Athough it is called expansion, it is a new rebuild of the marina before it was destroyed by Hurricane Frances in 2004.  We were amazed at the progress, and needless to say, have several pictures as shown above.  The islands of large rocks and sand will act as a barrier to the 150 floating docks that will go in during the summer.
We settled into our routine quickly -- breakfast burritos from Danny's Delight at the Farmer's Market on Saturday and drinks at the Tiki Bar and/or Cobb's Landing during happy hour.

On Sunday, November 11, we drove a rental car three hours north to Crescent Beach, FL to meet JoJo and Tom for lunch at South Beach Grill.  They drove Su's car down from Brunswick.  They have saved us hours of driving time and we are so very grateful.

Ken and Evelyn on M/V Sea Level came into the marina for two nights, and we had fun socializing with them.

We spent Thanksgiving down in West Palm Beach at Jane's home, Su's sister.  Fortunately, she gave us leftovers for another delicious meal.

How could we forget to mention the incredibly warm days and nights!  Days in the low 80s and nights in the high 60s.....
