Our plans to depart Fort Pierce in early March were delayed by winds -- first from the northwest and then strong gusty winds from the east. While waiting and watching the weather forecasts, Jim made a study of the pelicans on our dock. As you can see, one has a black neck and the other has a white neck. We don't know the difference, do you?

We finally started our cruise north on Tuesday, March 13 with our first stop in Vero Beach so we could visit with our friends, Sue who lives there and Jim & Laurie on S/V Kismet. We had drinks on Palmetto Moon followed by dinner at Mulligan's on the Beach. On Sunday, March 18, we docked in Fernandina Harbor and met up with Jim and Laurie again. Our next stop was new for us -- Morningstar Marina on St. Simons Island. We used the courtesy car to make a grocery run and then had a wonderful meal at the restaurant at the marina, Coastal Kitchen. From there, we continued north with some extremely long days; however, the weather was gorgeous with light winds and sun. We stopped for fuel at Osprey and took over 400 gallons of diesel. Jim is still recovering from that charge.

On Sunday, March 25, we pulled into Marina Grande Dunes and started cleaning up and packing for the trip back to the condo on March 28 for doctor and tax appointments. We'll go back to Palmetto Moon in mid April and continue our trek north.
