We took our time cruising to Myrtle Beach with stops in Swansboro, Wrightsville Beach, and Southport where we wanted to eat at Joseph's Italian Bistro at South Harbour Village Marina.  The food was excellent; however, the marina gets wakes from almost every small boat that passes by either direction!

New record:  Palmetto Moon cruised down the Cape Fear River with the tide going out and the wind from the NW on our stern -- about a mile north of the ICW channel in Southport -- we were flying at 14.4 mph!!!!

On Sunday, June 3, we arrived at Marina Grande Dunes and docked in the North Basin.  After a week of rocking and rolling there from wakes and the wakes returning off the concrete wall, we moved to the South Basin.
Our view from the port side from the T-head in the South Basin is Anchor Cafe.  We spent many evenings here enjoying reduced prices for drinks at appetizers at happy hour and meeting many old and new friends.  After being in a boatyard and then cruising, Palmetto Moon needed a good bath both inside and outside.  Exhausting work called for relaxation in the evening!

On Saturday, June 23, we drove back to the condo as Jim wanted to work on his chores without interruption.  Although there will be trips back and forth to enjoy marina life, the blog will be suspended until we start cruising again...
