In mid September, we returned to Marina Grande Dunes and were right back in the swing of boat chores, provisioning for the trip south, and meeting friends for cocktails and dinner.  On Friday, September 28, we left the dock heading to warm weather.  Our first extended stay was in Port Royal, SC to visit with our friends, Terry and Kim, who had purchased a home by the marina.  After three nights there, we continued into Georgia on rising tides with no problems in the known trouble spots.  We arrived at Kilkeeny Marina in pouring rain; however, after we docked, this beautiful rainbow appeared.  The span was the largest we've seen in our travels on the east coast.
On Sunday, October 7, we arrived at Brunswick Landing Marina and intended to stay for a couple of weeks; however, Sandy followed by strong winds changed those plans.  While there we spent many hours dining and drinking with our friends, JoJo and Tom, who live there.  At a minimum, dinner together every Monday at Fox's Pizza.

We tried several different places for breakfast, and Jim decided that the pancakes at Maggie Mae's were the best.  He settled into the routine for dining there on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.  Good thing we don't actually live there!  Su and JoJo had lunch on Wednesdays and Fridays and tried restaurants on Jekyll Island, St. Simon's Island, Brunswick, and Darien.  They have a list of others to try on the next visit.

Our friends, Larry and Sue of M/V SueSeaQ, drove up from Jacksonville for drinks and dinner at Marshside Grill.  Our friends, Jim and Laurie of S/V Kismet, docked at the marina the last week we were there so we got to spend some time with them.  Su and JoJo ran into our friends, Chris and Susan of M/V Forever Friday in the produce area of Publix.  Since we were on Dock 9 and they were on Dock 3, we didn't realize they were there.   We had a wonderful dinner with them at Indigo's Coastal Shanty several blocks fromt he marina.

We thought we would leave on Monday, October 29 but didn't -- too cold and too windy. The month ends with us still here looking at these gorgeous sunsets.
