October in Brunswick was wonderful -- warm, sunny days for catching up on chores and warm nights for socializing.  Jim worked on the teak rails and Su did loads of laundry as it is free at the marina.  We spent time with old friends -- Tom & JoJo, Joe & Sherry, Bill & Robin, and John & Cyndi -- and met many new friends.
On Thursday, October 17, we cruised through St. Simon's Sound with the Coast Guard around us as shown here.  Fortunately, they did not come too close to us during this practice of helicopter search and rescue.  We continued south on the ICW while they stayed in the Sound.

On Friday, October 18, Palmetto Moon was hauled at Tiger Point Marina.  As Jim was getting settled on the hard, Su left with JoJo to enjoy lunch at The Salty Pelican, rode back to Brunswick, picked up her car, and drove back to Amelia Island late in the afternoon.  On Saturday, we put on the first coat of bottom paint; on Sunday, we put on the second coat of bottom paint; on Monday, we were both exhausted!

On Thursday, October 24, we cruised about 2.5 miles over to Fernandina Harbor Marina to relax and spend time with our friends, Ken & Evelyn, who were driving back to FL and offered to drive Su's car to Fort Pierce.

On Sunday, October 27, we left Fernandina Beach with stops in St. Augustine, New Smyrna Beach where we had drinks with Ron of M/V Mary B, and Cocoa Village.  On Wednesday, October 30, we arrived in Fort Pierce at 3 PM and Ken & Evelyn arrived with Su's car at 4 PM.  One couldn't ask for better service, especially since they had the car washed inside/outside and filled it with gas.  We thanked them by giving them drinks followed by dinner at Bangkok Downtown, one of Evelyn's favorite places.

On Thursday, October 31, one of Su's friends from NY arrived by car in Fort Pierce.  She was traveling with her buddy, Al Paca who Alex found quite interesting.  Actually, we think Alex wanted to bite off his ears.   When Marcia visited in February, the temps were in the 40s, so we'll see what the weather brings on this trip.
