2010 starts off COLD! The temperatures were setting new records and not the kind one wants to hear when one is in Florida. Not only was it cold but also windy and it didn't matter which direction the wind was blowing, it was gusty. Here is an example: January 6: 55/28 -- lowest high temperature record and new record low temperature!!! Normal temps are mid 70s in the day and mid 50s at night. So, we spent the first half of January hibernating on the boat.

Even though it was cold, the sunrises were still beyond words; this is why Fort Pierce is called the "Sunrise City".

On Friday, January 15, we attended the Stuart Boat Show and walked through a new Ocean Alexander 60' which was incredibly beautiful. Now if only we could win Powerball.....

We spent the second half of the month doing all the chores we had neglected. The temps climbed and on January 21, it reached 84 which tied the record high temperature for that day. Since it was warm, the marina was alive with manatees drifting around. This one was drinking from our a/c drain. Su is sure there is a more technical name for it. Usually the manatees look like a piece of shale floating in the water; however, this one was more interested in our water supply.
