February was spent socializing with friends in the warm weather with shorts and t-shirts alternating with cold fronts with jackets and winter clothes. We attended First Friday Fest with our friends, Brenda & Geoff and Kim & Terry follwed by dinner at a local Mexican restaurant. On Saturday, February 7, our friends, Toby & Joanne drove down from Vero Beach to see our Farmer's Market and Craft Show. After lunch, we watched the Mardi Gras parade. As you can see, this was one of our cold days! On Sunday, February 8, our friends, Wendy & Bob, who were stranded in the Erie Canal with us in 2006, stopped by on their way to their timeshare in South Beach. It was great seeing them again; however, the visit was too, too short!

The Jazz Society provided entertainment in Marina Square all week from 11 AM to 2 PM; they know how to celebrate in this town.

On February 13, the St. Lucie Tribune reported the nation's high temperature for yesterday -- 86 degrees in Ft. Pierce, FL! We knew it was hot; however, we could not believe it.

On February 27, we drove to Fort Lauderdale and checked in to the Sheraton Yankee Clipper to visit with Jim's friends -- Joyce from NY pictured above, and Steve on the right -- all had worked together years ago at Ryder. They bummed around together while Steve's wife, Betty, worked, and I relaxed on the beach with another novel. We had dinner at Shula's on the Beach one night and the next night Betty served wonderful crab cakes and grilled salmon. Of course, I called Brenda several times to check on how Alex was coping with us leaving him alone on the boat. It turns out he was fine as Brenda & Geoff spent alot of time playing with him. On our way back to Ft. Pierce, we stopped at my sister's for a quick visit and a delicious brunch. And yes, Alex was thrilled to see us.
