Just a reminder, we are in Oriental, NC on the Neuse River.  On Saturday, May 5, we walked through part of the Town Yard Sale and saw many people that we knew.  Since there were 81 "yards", there was no way to see the whole sale; fortunately, there was nothing that we needed.

On Monday, May 7, Palmetto Moon was hauled, and since we have shown pictures in the past, we decided not to post another one.  The next day, Jim started his major hull project -- compound and wax.  The temps dipped into the low 50s at night which made sleeping very comfortable.  Remember:  we can't run air conditioning or heat when on the hard.

On Saturday, May 12, Brenda and Su browsed Art on the Neuse at the Marina combined with shopping in all the local stores and had lunch at M&M's Cafe.  She ran into Skyes from Greenville, SC who taught the USPS Weather course that was taken in the winter of 2011.  On Sunday, May 13, Jim killed a snake beside the boat.....wonderful, now we have to be careful where we step!!!! 

On Monday, May 14, our friends, Ken and Evelyn of M/V Sea Level, docked at the marina and we joined them for dinner.  They were on there way home to the Upper Chesapeake.  On Tuesday, May 15, Brenda and Su shopped in New Bern and had a wonderful lunch at 247 Craven.  On Thursday, May 17, we celebrated ten years of dating and put on the first coat of bottom paint -- not sure that was celebrating...
On Friday, May 18, the second coat of bottom paint was applied.

On Wednesday, May 23, we cruised over to the Oriental Marina to relax from doing boat projects.  Once rested, we stayed as storm Beryl was coming up the coast.  She passed through on Wednesday, May 30:   rain all day along with some gusts, but not as bad as the prediction.  On Thursday, May 31, we left Oriental and headed south on the ICW.
