On Wednesday, July 1, we cruised from Crisfield across the Chesapeake to Solomons. The Calvert Cliffs loom in front of us as we approach the Patuxent River. The Cliffs were formed more than 15 million years ago, when a warm and shallow sea covered all of southern Maryland. We spent the first week socializing with all the friends we had made last summer. On July 7, our friends, Larry and Sue on M/V SueSeaQ IV arrived for a week. On July 15, our friends, Dave and Laurie on M/V Shangri-La arrived for several days. On July 18, our friends, Brenda and Geoff, stopped for the night on their way north and west by car. Su bought Brenda's folding bike, and several days later Jim bought a bike.....now we have transportation!

While Jim and Su socialize and/or hang out at the Afterdeck Bar at the end of A Dock, Alex spends time on the lower helm station. Su hasn't figured out how to climb up there and give the area and windows a thorough cleaning; maybe next month.

On Friday, July 24, Su's friends, Cathy and John Becker, arrived from PA to spend the weekend. Su and Cathy became friends back in 1981 in Stamford, CT and both moved the summer of 1993 -- one to SC and one to PA. The calculation strained the memory banks of both; however, the conclusion was they had not seen each other for 14 years. Good friends remain good friends.....
