Jim decided to go for broke and chose the last option presented to him at the survey: new batteries, reconfigured system for engine starting batteries, and house, rewiring, and anything else that was done was over my head in understanding! On Saturday, September 22, we cruised with our friends, Joe and Dale, down to Hazzard Marine in Georgetown, SC where the work was done. Alex and I headed back to the condo so we weren't in the way of the electricians. Of course, the work took longer than anticipated; we finally returned to Marina at Grande Dunes in Myrtle Beach on Friday, October 5.
After many conversations, Jim and I concluded that it made sense to remain at Grande Dunes through the winter. He will spend less on our boat life and I will take care of another issue, my left knee. Surgery is scheduled for Friday, October 19 to repair a tear and smooth out some roughness (whatever that means).
Our friends, Jim and Sue on Water Dancer, arrived on Monday, October 8. Sue and I have been lounging and reading by the lovely pool. The amenities are wonderful at this marina combined with a friendly staff.
Since we won't be cruising for several months, I don't think I will post as often. But, then again, I might!
