Fort Pierce is called the Sunrise City, and this is just one of the gorgeous sunrises we witness almost every day. 2012 started off cold and windy although that was abnormal as the temps climbed into the high 70s for most of January. On Wednesdays, Sue and Su continued their shop/lunch days in Vero Beach, historic downtown Stuart and Fort Pierce -- lots of small shops and big box stores combined with good restaurants. Who could ask for anything more?
Our friends, John and Barbara, of M/V Barbara E came into the marina for several days of relaxing and dining. John and Jim were seen in a different restaurant for breakfast every morning. Fortunately, they were here over a weekend and were able to experience the Farmers Market and Arts & Crafts which just celebrated its 15th anniversary.
On Friday, January 20, Sue and seven of her neighbors came down from Vero to join us for dinner at Cobb's Landing followed by Richard Nader's Doo Wop and Rock 'n Roll at the Sunrise Theatre. The highlights were The Charlie Thomas Drifters singing many of their great hits, Frankie Ford (Sea Cruise), Steam (Na Na Hey Hey Kiss Him Goodbye) and four other legends of Doo Wop.
The big question is where did January go? It seems as though our time in southern paradise is flying by and flying by too fast!
